I remember that the old VW manuals always had a section with a drawing showing the headlight high beam and low beam adjusting pattern. You could park your bug in front of a wall and use the dimensions from the pattern to adjust your headlights correctly.Rebuilding front beam on my 66. Removed the steering box and found it to be loaded with old moldy grease. I soaked for a week in cleaner and removed the grease and rust. I replaced both seals and threaded the cover and installed cap screws in lieu of plastic caps. I have read different articles that approach the lubrication of the steering boxes.Even raised you may have to trim the fiberglass in places. Then you never tried 700 15 Yokos front and 31 x10.50 rear tires they roll over terrain that 27" tires fall in. It is like adding 2 more inches of soft travel.
